Fiber and UV Galvo lasers are two of the most used marking machines in the current market, both of them are able to mark and engrave different materials but there are certain important differences that will help you decide which type of Galvo laser is best for your application.

UV Galvo laser uses third-order cavity frequency technology, it generates a very small focusing spot (355nm) that decreases material deformation due to thermal effect. In opposition, Galvo Fiber laser generates a bigger light spot (1064nm) that increases the affected area by the heat generated.

Another important difference is that Galvo Fiber laser marking produces physical (superficial) changes on the material while UV Galvo laser produces chemical (interior) changes to process the material.

Finally, the cost-effectiveness relation for Galvo fiber laser is higher making it more affordable. Oh the other hand, UV Galvo Laser suits better high-end markets that require cleaner and finer marking.
