Galvo Laser Markers VS Flatbed Gantry Type lasers
Feature |
Galvo Lasers |
Gantry type Lasers |
Motion of the Laser Head |
Use high speed motor driven mirrors to lead the laser beam onto the material |
Use a set of mechanized belts to move the laser beam on the x and y axis |
Working Area |
Varies by laser wattage and F-theta scanning lens. For 2D galvo laser, the marking area is up to 11.8” x 11.8“(300mm x 300mm). For 3D galvo laser, the marking area is either 7.8” x 7.8” (200mm x 200mm) or 23.6” x 23.6” (600mm x 600mm). |
This type of machine has a wider work area to accommodate larger materials or pieces. The working area can be 52” x 36”, 63” x 36”, 4’x8’ and 5’ x 10’. |
Production Setting |
Galvo systems can be placed into production stations to integrate with other processes. |
Usually used individually due to the process needed to operate the machine (material loading, processing, and removal) |
